Step It Up Backs Stein for City Council

According to the Cleveland Heights citizens group, Jason Stein will energize city government and inspire confidence in the city’s future.

Cleveland Heights (October 18, 2009) – Step It Up, a group of dedicated Cleveland Heights residents working to boost citizen involvement in this fall’s City Council election and help shape the community’s future, has announced its support for candidate Jason Stein.

The announcement follows Stein’s recent endorsements by current council members as well as members of the Cleveland Heights-University Heights Board of Education.

Step It Up’s selection was based on a recent candidates forum as well as interviews with candidates about the group’s Citizen Agenda. According to the organization, Stein brings an appreciation of the issues spelled out in that agenda, excellent leadership qualities, an ability to listen and a desire to reach out to engage residents, businesses, nonprofits and public schools. Stein will also energize city government and inspire confidence in the city’s future, Step It Up leaders added.

“He sees an urgent need to unite the northern and southern portions of the city,” the group stated. “He would encourage development in suffering business districts, especially north of Mayfield. His ambitious plans to attract businesses include incentives for green initiatives.”
